Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 has been in the news ever since it was announced. This was largely due to the brand Tiger under which Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) had become blockbusters and the presence of superstar Salman Khan. The hype for the film, as it neared released, multiplied and this was seen from the opening it took yesterday of Rs. 44.50 crores.

But that’s not all. Tiger 3 has also registered the seventh highest opening day number of all-time. While doing so, it has overtaken his own Bharat, which had earlier acquired that spot with Rs. 42.30 crores.

The first two films in the list are this year’s releases and both star Shah Rukh Khan in the lead – Jawan and Pathaan with Rs. 75 crores and Rs. 57 crores respectively. The third movie in the list is the Hindi version of the Kannada blockbuster KGF Chapter 2, which scored Rs. 54.95 crores on its opening day. This film is followed by War (Rs. 53.35 crores) and Thugs Of Hindostan (Rs. 52.25 crores).

Produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films, Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles.
