Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki earns over Rs 300 crore at global box office- Cinema express

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in gross worldwide collection, the makers said on Thursday.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the comedy-drama opened to mixed reviews upon its release on December 21.

Red Chillies Entertainment, one of the production houses behind Dunki, shared that the movie has grossed Rs 305 crore globally. When it comes to the box office, the film pales in comparison to other SRK releases this year (Jawan and Pathaan), which made over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The film is also facing fierce competition from Prabhas-starrer Salaar which was released on the same day as Dunki.

Apart from SRK, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover.

Our CE review of the film read, “Dunki is boring at times, which is the worst criticism for a Rajkumar Hirani film. The screenplay, penned by Hirani, Abhijat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon lacks both thrills and giggles. The film feels a juxtaposition of ideas inspired (read: copied) from Hirani’s previous releases.”
