The Akshay Kumar starrer Sarfira has opened on a disastrous note at the box office in India, competing with films like Selfiee and Mission Raniganj. According to early estimates, Sarfira has collected Rs. 2.10 to 2.40 crores on the opening day, which indicates curtains down for the film even before its release.

The film was a no-show all across the board – be it single screens or multiplexes – and the same reflects in the box office numbers too. The film got a wide release on 2500 screens in India, but the opening day business saw shows being cancelled at several locations. Many cinema halls have already started replacing Sarfira with Kalki 2898 AD at their properties.

Over the weekend, some premium properties will also see an increase in showcasing of Kill. These are not-so-good signs for Akshay Kumar, and there is a need for him to rethink his strategies, as Sarfira is the fourth film to open under the Rs. 3 crore mark after Bell Bottom, Selfiee, and Mission Raniganj.

All eyes are on the weekend of Sarfira, though the fate won’t change even with the jumps as the start itself is too low and the film is not going anywhere from here.
