For Kill to have a decent lifetime number, the need of the hour was Monday to drop as minimal as possible when compared to Friday. In fact, on its opening day the film had collected Rs. 1.35 crore and for weekdays to be steady, anything over Rs. 1 crore would have been fair.
Well, the film did much better than being just fair as Rs. 1.30 crore came in. That’s really good since the drop from Friday is negligible. In fact, in terms of footfalls, the quantum is even higher since ticket rates are lesser on weekdays. Had they been the same then the collections would have comfortably gone past the Rs. 1.50 crore mark. The trending is also a pleasant surprise since growth from Saturday (Rs. 2.20 crores) to Sunday (Rs. 2.70 crores) wasn’t much and hence this Monday hold is all the more important as something like this seldom happens.
The film has now collected Rs. 7.55 crores and one waits to see Tuesday to hold around the same lines. If that indeed turns out to be the case, then we could as well have the film step into the second week with at least a decent count of shows despite the arrival of new films.
