Shah Rukh Khan’s latest outing Jawan opened at a record breaking Rs. 65.50 crores on Thursday September 7. The film broke the record of his own previous film Pathaan, which, released earlier in the year, netted Rs. 57 crores on its opening day. It remained steady on day 2 as well by amassing close to Rs. 50 crores, which is excellent for a working day.

Jawan is expected to fly high again on Saturday and Sunday because of the holidays and that is exactly what it seems to be happening. As per latest updates till 12:30 pm today, the film has already earned Rs. 21.25 crores from the two biggest multiplex chains of India alone. To break down this figure, the movie has collected Rs. 16.75 crores in PVR Inox and Rs. 4.50 crores in Cinepolis till that time today. Apart from these two chains, the film has earned Rs.1.25 crores in Miraj and Rs. 60 lakhs in Movie Max.

Jawan’s numbers for today till 12:30 pm in PVR Inox and Cinepolis are much higher than its first and second days till that time in the same chains. The film had collected Rs. 19.35 crores in these two chains till that time on its first day and Rs. 11.60 crores on its second day.

In other words, Jawan is set to take the box office by storm today and tomorrow.

Directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles.
