Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani debuted with Munna Bhai MBBS in 2003 and achieved instant success. 20 years after that movie, he finally got a chance of working with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki. The two tried working together several times before but it didn’t work out. The film is about illegal immigration, and it also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.

Dunki hasn’t set the box office on fire, as one would have expected from the combination of Hirani and SRK. The movie has earned Rs. 142.27 crores in seven days so far in India. It has seen a downward trend after the big Christmas holiday on Monday December 25.

But Dunki has been scoring decently in the worldwide market. As per the latest box office update, the movie has now crossed the Rs. 300 crores gross mark in its worldwide collections. The film has achieved this number on its seventh day yesterday, which was Wednesday December 27. It’s worldwide gross total currently stands at Rs. 304.97 crores.

Dunki is Rajkumar Hirani’s first directorial venture outside producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s banner after making a series of films with the latter that include, Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju.

Dunki is produced under the banners of SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films.
