Bad Newz has taken a good start at the box office. The film was anyways carrying good buzz around it and amongst the youth especially, it was bound to find good patronage. Moreover, with its urban theme, the film was anyways going to work well at urban multiplexes. Of course, all of these were good signs for the film to take a good start but then one can never be too sure, especially in the current times, until the advance bookings open. Thankfully for the film, that was positive as well with more than 50000 tickets being sold before the first show commenced, and that was enough to promise a good start for the film.
This is what happened as there were reasonable footfalls right from the start of the day, something that was a pleasing sight since otherwise majority of movies are otherwise showing footfalls only from evening shows onwards. Things actually started turning better and better as the day progressed and number of premium properties were actually full or almost full around the night shows. The weekend crowd has started swelling for the film which means today there would be good growth evidenced for sure.
As for the Friday number, they have come out to be really good with Rs. 8.62 crores being collected at the box office. This is one of the better starts that a Bollywood film has taken for a really long time, which means an overall healthy weekend is on the cards for the film. The reviews have been positive for the film and so is the word of mouth which is decent at the very least. As a result, this one should end up seeing good footfalls right through the weekend and eventually turn out to be a success story.
