Ok, so not it can be said that Animal is not a flash in the pan. It’s not an opening day wonder, it’s not a weekend surprise and it’s not the shock quotient that ensured a blockbuster first week. It’s a genuine success that has been loved by the vast majority of audiences which has seen the film and that’s something which can be clearly seen in the way the second week has kick-started for the film.
If Thursday collections stood at Rs. 24.13 crores then even on Friday the dip has been negligible, what with Rs. 24 crores more coming in. That’s excellent trending since the film has as it is been collecting quite huge and the Rs. 300 Crore Club entry has already been made well within the first week itself. In such a scenario when the second Friday is similar to Thursday then it pretty much reflects that there are a lot of takers for the film and the (positive) word of mouth is still spreading. Yes, a section of conservative audience hasn’t liked it but the rest have.
No wonder, the overall collections of the film read as Rs. 362.63 crores in just 8 days. That’s still a massive average of around Rs. 45 crores per day and even by the close of the second weekend, the average will stay well over Rs. 40 crores per day, which is simply phenomenal. This Ranbir Kapoor, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Bhushan Kumar film is a bonafide blockbuster which is moving fast towards being an all time blockbuster.
