Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s much-discussed aerial action thriller, Fighter, is showing impressive trends at the box office through its opening weekend. After opening at Rs. 24.60 crore on Thursday, Siddharth Anand jumped to Rs. 41.20 crore on the Republic Day, taking the two-day total to Rs. 65.80 crore. While the Saturday business was expected to come closer to the Thursday number, the movie has managed to stay afloat and stable on the third day.
Fighter has passed the Saturday test as the collections have come approximately 25 percent above the first day, with estimates in the range of Rs. 28.50 to 29.50 crore. With this, the 3-day total of Fighter stands at Rs. 95 crore and the movie will enter the Rs. 100 crore club in the span of its extended opening weekend.
The business of Fighter is dominated by the National Multiplex Chains, and given the urban appeal of the film, it will continue to do well in the top multiplex chains. With solid business through the 3-day run, Fighter is expected to show another jump in collections on day 4, as it’s a Sunday and the mass circuits are expected to be strong.
The four-day business of Fighter will fall in the bracket of Rs. 127 crore, and the film is on its course to emerge as a successful venture. It’s going to be a hat-trick of successes for the combo of Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand after Bang Bang and War, though we can say this with confidence on Monday.
