When 12th Fail had released in theatres, it had scored Rs. 1.10 crores on its opening day. Not many were giving it any sort of a chance and even if Rs. 75 lakhs would have come in, it would have been treated as at-par score. However, the word of mouth came into play and by the close of day, it had crossed the Rs. 1 crore mark, hence giving it a chance to grow from there on.

12th Fail Box Office: Does well again on second Monday, is still higher than first Friday

Well, it has not just grown ever since then but also surprised one and all, what with the collections surprising on a regular basis. While it had already enjoyed Rs. 3 crores+ score for three days now, it’s still staying on to be better than its first day collections even after the second weekend. This can well be seen from second Monday collections which stand at Rs. 1.31 crores.  The Vikrant Massey starrer doesn’t have any competition whatsoever around it and is pretty much enjoying an uninterrupted run. Of course, due to its niche nature, the footfalls are still limited.

That’s good enough though for the Vidhu Vinod Chopra film since it has been made at a small budget and still the collections have not just gone past the Rs. 20 crores mark but are also aiming for a lifetime of Rs. 35 crores and more. Currently standing at Rs. 22.76 crores, the film will cross Rs. 25 crores by tomorrow and then before Tiger 3 arrives on Sunday, it could well have hit Rs. 30 crores too.
