On its release day, 12th Fail had collected Rs. 1.10 crores at the box office. While the collections continued to grow on a day-by-day basis, even on Thursday the numbers were good at Rs. 1.30 crores. This means the first day stayed on to be the lowest in its run so far and if the trending so far is any indication, this should be the case right till the close of second week as well.

12th Fail Box Office: Stays bigger than opening day right till Thursday, should cross Rs. 20 crores in 10 days

There is no competition whatsoever that the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directed film has as newer releases like Aankh Micholi and UT69 have seen a restricted arrival. In fact, The Lady Killer, which actually features a known cast of Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, has seen a truly token release at only a few shows across the country. As a result, 12th Fail is now seeing a higher count of shows for it than it had on the first day of release.

Currently standing at Rs. 13 crores, the film should grow today and tomorrow again, though on Sunday it would be muted again due to India vs South Africa World Cup match. Still, at least Rs. 6 crores more should come in the second weekend and with some push the film could well cross the Rs. 20 crores mark after its 10-day run before it steps back into the weekdays.
