NTR Jr. is back after RRR, and the Man of Masses is back to doing what he does the best. According to early estimates, Kortala Siva-directed Devara has taken a smashing start at the box office in India. Our tracking indicates an all-India opening in the range of Rs. 90 crore to 95 crores, making it one of the biggest openers in the history of Indian Cinema.

The film has embarked on an earth-shattering start in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, whereas circuits like North India and Karnataka have performed better than expectations. The start is so-so in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, but that was always expected, and the hope is for the film to gain momentum over the weekend.

Devara is looking to score a non-SS Rajamouli record in the home territory of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, opening better than the Prabhas-led Kalki 2898 AD.  It’s an excellent opening for Devara, and the talk also seems to be on the positive side.

The Kortala Siva directorial is also the biggest opening to date for NTR Jr, and the actor will now look to better this with every passing film going forward.
