The Dinesh Vijan produced horror comedy, Stree 2, has set the box office on fire on Independence Day. According to early estimates, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao led film has collected in the range of Rs. 42 to 44 crores on the opening day. When we take into account the paid previews of Rs. 8.50 crore, the opening day of Stree 2 stands at an earth-shattering number of Rs. 52.50 crores.

The film has done well all across the board – be it the multiplexes or the single screens – and is headed to emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi Cinema. It’s not an expensive film, which means an unheard-of return on investment for Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios.

The national chains have collected around Rs. 21.50 crores on the first day, with a ratio of 55%. Stree 2 has shocked the industry with its performance on the opening day as the film has surpassed all expectations to script history at the box office.

All eyes are on the trends over the weekend as the early reports are very positive.
